Field Service Engineer I – New York

New York | Field-Based Travel Technician

Pay: $20.00–$29.00 per hour, plus overtime
Job Type: Full-time, temp-to-hire
Travel: Up to 80%, including overnight travel

About the Role

Quest International is hiring a hands-on Field Service Engineer I to support customer locations throughout the New York territory.

This is a travel technician position. You will travel to customer sites to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair medical, industrial, OEM, and electro-mechanical equipment.

The position requires flexibility for overnight travel, early departures, late returns, changing customer schedules, and overtime based on customer and business needs.

What You’ll Do

Travel to customer locations, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose equipment failures, replace failed parts or assemblies, verify proper operation after repairs, and complete accurate service documentation.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 1 year of professional hands-on field service, equipment repair, electronics, maintenance, or electro-mechanical repair experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment to the FRU/component level and replace failed modules, boards, wiring, connectors, sensors, or assemblies.
  • Professional experience using a digital multimeter and other diagnostic/service tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 80%, including overnight travel, early departures, late returns, changing schedules, and overtime when required.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and ability to work independently at customer locations throughout the assigned New York territory.

Preferred Experience

Experience with medical devices, medical capital equipment, industrial equipment, OEM products, optical equipment, electronics, BMET, automotive, aviation, robotics, mechatronics, or military technical work is a plus.

Basic Windows troubleshooting, Command Prompt, PowerShell, networking, and technical documentation experience is also preferred.

This is a hands-on travel field-service position. It is not a remote, work-from-home, IT help-desk, or software-support position.
