Field Service Engineer

United Medical Instruments, Inc. (UMI) has been providing ultrasound equipment solutions and expertise for over 27 years to thousands of satisfied clinicians and biomedical engineers worldwide. UMI offers both new and refurbished ultrasound equipment from leading manufacturers, such as Siemens, Terason, Toshiba, GE, SonoSite, and Philips. UMI is headquartered in San Jose, California with a global team dedicated to achieving ultrasound excellence by serving customers' needs every day.


Role Description

This is a full-time field services engineer role with UMI. The Field Services Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, repair, technical support, preventive maintenance, account development, and customer service for ultrasound equipment. This is a hybrid role located in San Jose, CA with most duties conducted off site.


Qualifications

  • 5 years experience in field service, technical support, preventive maintenance, and customer service
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Proficiency in ultrasound equipment operation and maintenance
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Biomedical Engineering or a related field is preferred
