Job description

Field Service Technician

American Extrusion International is a global company engaged in the design, development, manufacture, installation and service of Grain Extrusion Equipment and other up/downstream accessories for the Food Industry.

Job Duties

The successful candidate will be able to install and service our equipment in the field, traveling to our U.S. and International customer sites, and effectively train operators to use our equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Install and test equipment, train customer employees to use newly installed equipment.
  • Perform demonstrations.
  • Provide service and support during site visits.
  • Diagnose errors and determine proper solutions.
  • Follow up with customers via email and phone.
  • Document Processes.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Assist with product development.
  • Troubleshoot from Office (remote assistance)

Qualifications

The successful candidate must:

  • Demonstrate mechanical assembly experience.
  • Demonstrate electrical connection and testing experience (at least be up to learning basics).
  • Be proficient with computers.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Can teach/train effectively.
  • Be willing to travel, including internationally up to 40%.
  • Can be professional around customers.

While the following would be a plus:

  • Equipment maintenance experience.
  • Mechanical experience.
  • Extrusion experience.
  • Food Industry experience.
  • Bilingual/Multi-Lingual language skills.
  • Mechanical Engineering background or Mechanical, Hydraulic, or Electrical Certification a plus.

  • Hands on Work
  • Teamwork

Training will be provided upon hire. Reports to Field Service Manager.
