Job overview:

Schneider is seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer in Green Bay to provide technical support to internal associates and be a point of contact for suppliers regarding equipment and system opportunities. The Entry Level Mechanical Engineer will work on and test technical equipment projects to enhance the quality and safety of Schneiders fleet.

Responsibilities:

  • Test and develop parts and components.
  • Review performance expectations with suppliers and take corrective action when expectations are not met.
  • Provide technical equipment support to maintenance leaders, engineering, operations and drivers.
  • Research new and alternative products and make recommendations to other engineers based on the anticipated added value to the fleet.
  • Work with shop leaders and technicians to assist with diagnostics on technical issues.
  • Coach shop leaders and technicians on best value cost decisions on major repairs to reduce time.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering.
  • 1 year of engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of truck mechanical and technical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Class 8 equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to occasionally travel.
