Job description

What You'll Bring to The Team:

We're looking for a highly technical, customer-oriented Field Engineer to help bring Florence's Trial Operations Platform to life across clinical research sites, sponsors, and CROs. You'll operate at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success-owning implementations, integrations, and data workflows that power real-world clinical operations.

You Will:

  • Be a team player: contribute to our culture, bring creative solutions to industry challenges, and help build a world-changing company
  • Work directly with customers to deploy, configure, and optimize the Florence platform in real-world clinical environments
  • Own end-to-end integrations-from discovery and requirements gathering through deployment, training, and ongoing support
  • Design, build, and maintain middleware and integrations between Florence and external systems
  • Develop and troubleshoot API-based integrations, data pipelines, and system interoperability workflows
  • Build and maintain custom reporting solutions using Snowflake and SQL
  • Translate customer workflows and data requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud infrastructure (AWS), integrations, and data flows
  • Partner closely with product and engineering to debug issues, validate fixes, and inform roadmap decisions
  • Ensure high-quality, secure, and compliant implementations (HIPAA, GxP, etc.)
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, guiding best practices and long-term success with Florence
An Ideal Candidate is/has:
  • Strong technical background (software engineering, solutions engineering, or similar)
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing or integration-focused role
  • Comfortable writing and debugging production code in JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience building or maintaining integrations and middleware between systems
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, web services, and debugging distributed systems
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and data modeling; experience with Snowflake or similar data warehouses
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills in ambiguous, real-world environments
  • Excellent communication skills-able to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple customer engagements and priorities simultaneously
  • Experience with tools like Git, Postman, and scripting (JavaScript, Python, or similar)
Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience in healthcare, clinical trials, or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with EDC, eTMF, or clinical research workflows
  • Experience with event-driven architectures or ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, Step Functions etc.)
  • Experience with authentication/authorization (OAuth, SSO, JWT) in integrations
  • Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2, GxP)
  • Experience building internal tools or automation to improve deployment and reporting workflows
  • Background in startups or fast-paced environments
