Job description

OverviewOnly a current Area Coordinator, CSM, or Department Manager at this location will be eligible for this PIC role. Position Overview

The Person in Charge (PIC) position is a secondary work assignment that you must apply and be selected for. Your schedule will flex between your current role and the PIC role. When not scheduled as a PIC all PIC responsibilities will default to the store management team, and you will resume the responsibilities of your current role. PIC duties will include opening and closing routines including execution of bank deposits, receipt of shipment, and interpret / disseminate company directive when assigned as manager on duty. Assists in the operation of a profitable store by: controlling expenses, being in-stock on basics, practicing good personnel skills and principles, consistently applying policies and procedures, ensuring store is clean and in good repair, recognizing and solving problems, controlling liabilities, understanding and protecting company assets, and maintaining a high level of employee morale and customer satisfaction.

  • Wage: Additional $2.00 per hour while scheduled as a PIC.
  • Reports to: Store Manager
  • Coordinates with: Store management, district manager, senior VP of store operations, area coordinators, hourly clerks and cashiers, as well as administrative office staff.
Essential Job Functions
  • Accountable for achieving and maintaining a level of satisfaction and friendliness, which exceeds that found in competing retail
  • Responsible for leadership tasks as delegated by store managers
  • Act as the manager on duty, when scheduled, to address customer service, personnel or maintenance issues
  • Responsible for the continued training, evaluation, and communication with employees
  • Responsible for the in-stock position and responsible for the presentation of all basic and promotional merchandise according to company
  • Take action to reduce internal and external theft and waste
  • Responsible for adherence to and accuracy of the cash handling, check acceptance, and accounting systems
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment
  • Take action to control all sources of potential liability
  • Take action to improve sales objectives
  • Responsible for enforcing company policy, ensures a safe work environment, free of harassment or unlawful discrimination
  • Oversee employees unloading trucks, pricing merchandise, stocking shelves, or cashiering
  • When scheduled provide leadership-by-example to employees in all areas of the store operation, and in personal conduct
