Job Summary
The Corporate Events Manager is a dynamic role for a creative and strategic planner who has passion for delivering exceptional experiences. The Corporate Events Manager will lead a variety of internal and external events for Roers Companies, including but not limited to: employee conferences, employee recognition events, company milestone celebrations, leadership summits, property grand opening and groundbreaking celebrations, and quarterly construction trade partner events. The ideal candidate is reliable, highly organized, detailed, collaborative, and flexible - with a knack for anticipating participants' needs to plan and host incredible events for our employees and business partners. The Corporate Events Manager will interact daily with the Corporate Marketing team, and have regular interaction with company executives, department leaders and specialists across the business, and external partners.
Responsibilities
  • Planning, leading, and ensuring successful execution of employee-facing and external stakeholder events
  • Ensuring the attendee experience meets or exceeds expectations through friendly, professional, and attentive presence
  • Gathering information and strategic direction from leaders, gaining clarity, providing recommendations, putting plans into motion, and recapping key decisions and tasks for meeting participants
  • Researching venues and vendors, including site visits when needed
  • Coordinating and communicating event details with venue managers, vendors, participants, program hosts, and internal leaders
  • Supporting team's efforts to promote and build excitement for marquee events
  • Managing budgets for each event, including securing contract and budget approvals, following up on payments, ensuring event charges are billed correctly within our accounting system, and tracking actual spending against budget estimates
  • Setting up RSVP process for each event as needed, maintaining invitation and attendance lists, sending reminders and updates
  • Tracking updates and monitoring deadlines via Monday.com project management system
  • Attending corporate events to ensure all day-of logistics are handled successfully (e.g., transporting items to venue, setup, teardown, photography, rentals and service providers meet expectations, troubleshooting in the moment, etc.)
  • Maintaining inventory of event supplies, recommending and purchasing event supplies and tools when appropriate
  • Soliciting feedback and implementing recommendations to improve future events

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in event planning, hospitality, project management, communications, or marketing preferred
  • 4-10 years' experience in planning events, in-house corporate experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Monday.com or similar project management system preferred
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with occasional public speaking (e.g., to share internal event details with employees, make wayfinding announcements mid-conference, or emcee small events)
  • Consistently demonstrates company values of ownership mindset, passion, teamwork, work ethic, and integrity
  • Requires 10-20% travel - across the Twin Cities metro and in select cities nationwide - to attend and support events or scout event locations
  • Occasional evening availability to attend events is required, generally a few times per quarter
  • Reliable transportation required

Compensation and Benefits for Corporate Events Manager
Pay Range: $70,015 - $92,100
Compensation is determined by several factors that vary depending on the position, including the individual's experience, skills, and the knowledge they bring to the specific role .
