The Internal Communications Specialist provides communication support and direction for strategic initiatives and operational topics. This position supports and maintains FDB’s global standards and develops editorial and video content for intranet, publications newsletters, e-boards, presentations and other internal communication channels. This role works closely with members of the FUJIFILM Biotechnologies Communications Team and supports communications for the Morrisville location.

What You'll Do

  • Develops, directs and executes internal communications plan for the Morrisville FUJIFILM site and ensures alignment with Holly Springs, global narrative, its’ people-focused achievements, People Strategy, company culture/values and other topics to support the company as a great place to work.
  • Prepares content, executes, and facilitates internal communications, such as Town Halls, internal newsletters, video briefs and scripts, and all related messaging; in addition, engages with employees and leaders across the business to determine the appropriate audience, timing, channels, and verbiage for outgoing messages.
  • Partners cross-functionally across teams in close collaboration with Human Resources, Operations and other functions both internally and externally to execute communication initiatives from concept to delivery, while championing the inclusion of our employee and leadership voice.
  • Serves as the on-site administrator of the FLBU Intranet site, ensuring information is timely and visually engaging; collaborates with Global Communications team to facilitate the creation of new site pages as needed; trains and empowers departmental contributors and page owners across other FLBU workstreams in their own page management, troubleshooting issues and answering questions as needed. Conducts periodic content audits and recommends improvements to the Intranet.
  • Manages the site’s primary communications account, FLBU Comms, distributing weekly newsletters, event invites, regular operational updates, and collaborates with others on key site messaging/ updates as needed.
  • Provides communications support for external events or initiatives (e.g., video projects, social media scripts, SLT conference presentations, etc.) as required by the site in collaboration with FLB’s Global Communications team.
  • Translates FLBU business decisions and strategies to support communications and message development to ensure there is synergy across the sites.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 8 years of previous experience in a communications role OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of previous experience in a communications roleOR
  • Master’s degree 3 years of previous experience in a communications role
  • Excellent writing and research skills, with knowledge of AP style and a keen attention to detail
  • Fluency in communications tools and technology such as Canva, Contact, etc.

Preferred Requirements 

  • Experience working in a matrixed environment and operate within a complex, fast-paced and changing environment
  • Monkey (or MailChimp), Streamio, etc.  
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience with corporate video projects; basic video editing experience
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical/biotechnology or life sciences industry

Working & Physical Conditions

Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time up to 60minutes. 

Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time up to 240 minutes.

Ability to conduct activities using repetitive motions that include wrists, hands or fingers.
