Job Description: Data Analyst Intern

The Data Analyst Intern is responsible for analyzing manufacturing and operational data to uncover trends, support decision-making, and drive process improvements. This intern develops dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau or Power BI, performs ad-hoc analyses, and helps standardize data methods across the facility. By transforming raw data into actionable insights, the Data Analyst Intern enables plant management and engineering teams to optimize engine production and quality.

Skills / Competencies

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and data querying.
  • Strong quantitative and statistical analysis skills.
  • Ability to visualize and communicate data insights effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) is a plus but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing systems is a plus but not required.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Analyze manufacturing and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for plant management and business unit teams.
  • Assist in data collection, cleaning, and validation processes.
  • Develop cross-functional training plans for the business to adopt business intelligence tooling.
  • Support ongoing projects by providing actionable data insights.
  • Document findings and present recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to process improvement discussions.

Education

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, AL/ML, or a related field.
  • Coursework or experience in data analysis, statistics, and visualization preferred.
