This is a Hybrid role in Plantation, FL.
Position Summary
As a member of a collaborative development team, the Engineering Intern will be involved in developing solutions and applications specializing in Cybersecurity for the Financial Services market. This engineering focus will be geared towards supporting the existing Thales product portfolio, which is best in class, as well as next generation products currently in development.
Additionally, the Junior Engineer will be a contributor in the refactoring of an embedded software baseline onto a platform containing new systems, hardware, software, and security architectures for the next generation product offering.
The Engineering Intern will work closely with systems, software, security, and test engineers (both onsite and remote) to ensure timely delivery of quality products.
Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Follow software engineering principles and best practices across all phases of commercial development and engineering product release.
  • Debug and resolve problems with limited scope in multi-threaded and concurrent applications.
  • Escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Communicating task and project status to the team and product owners.
  • Ensuring assigned tasks are on time.
  • Accurately breaking down, estimating, and scheduling software tasks.
  • Utilize formal software configuration management & control tools.
  • Understand and follow routine policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance to company formal quality system.
  • Any other duties or tasks as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Skills and Abilities:
  • Understanding of JIRA, GIT, Confluence, Python, C/C++
  • Experience with Linux and Linux virtual machines
  • Strong skills in Python and C/C++ programming languages.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions with supervisory review.
Education:
  • Computer Science or Computer Engineering student, Junior year or above.
Preferred Qualifications
Skills and Abilities:
  • Familiar with Agile and/or SAFE methodologies.
  • Familiar with AI tooling (code assistants, LLM usage)
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
  • Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Special Position Requirements
Schedule: Core Business Hours Monday-Friday.
Physical Environment: The working environment is generally indoors in environmentally controlled conditions where lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous conditions.

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between
Total Target Cash (TTC) 75,297.75 - 140,555.80 USD Annual
This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many.
