Job description

Job Tasks and Activities: 
  • Develop visually appealing, intuitive, user friendly, and insightful Qlik Sense dashboards and reports.
  • Advise program areas on which visualizations and analyses would best help them achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and others to gather and clean data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and quality.
  • Use statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies, and extract meaningful insights.
  • Interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex statistical analysis.
  • Work collaboratively with program areas to identify KPIs and develop metrics to track and measure progress toward goals.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and others to optimize data collection, storage, and retrieval processes.
  • Monitor data quality to identify data issues and propose data cleansing or enhancement solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, scientists, and others to understand data needs, address technical challenges, and promote data-driven decision-making across the organization. Provide overall direction, guidance and definition of the enterprise’s architecture to effectively support the agency’s business strategy.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members and colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in D&A practices.
Required Experience: 
  • At least two years of experience in data visualization and analysis with Qlik Sense
  • Proficient in gathering and cleaning data from various sources (Proficiency level: 3)
  • Familiar with statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies (Proficiency level: 3)
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate program requirements into technical solutions and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels (Proficiency level 3)
  • Good oral (presenting and public speaking) and written (documentation, briefing reports, correspondence, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) communication skills. (Proficiency level: 3)
  • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments. (Proficiency level: 3)
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with Alteryx.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar data tools.
  • Familiarity with environmental data.
