Job Overview:

Our Project Engineer Interns assists the Project Team on projects and is the liaison between the field and the office. In this role, the PE is responsible for defining the project's objectives by planning, executing and finalizing projects according to the schedule while keeping within the budget.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks (previously named Roles, Responsibilities and Tasks):

  • Develop strong relationships with project managers, subcontractors, engineers, and vendors to foster a collaborative team approach, setting the stage for a successful career in the electrical construction industry.
  • Collaborate with the project team to effectively track materials, maintaining positive vendor relationships for tracking, coordination, and close-out purposes.
  • Promote the Rexmoore safety culture by actively monitoring and encouraging jobsite safety and accident prevention.
  • Participate in the Change Order process and gain exposure to estimating with tools like Accubid, enhancing your understanding of project costs and management.
  • Work closely with the project team to analyze subcontract agreements, gaining insight into scope of work and project pricing for improved project management.
  • Participate in material and equipment procurement processes to ensure timely delivery and project efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with the BIM (Building Information Modeling) department, actively participating in coordination and planning processes.
  • Maintain detailed job logs and ensuring accurate project documentation.
  • Gain exposure to and assist with monitoring quality control processes to uphold project standards.
  • Manage labor schedules in collaboration with superintendents and project managers, ensuring efficient project execution.
  • Gain hands-on experience by walking jobsites, learning the trade, and applying your knowledge to enhance overall company performance

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program such as Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous construction or internship experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated with a tendency to take initiative.
