Position Overview

The Program Project Coordinator will assist students in obtaining internships in the sports entertainment industry, assist with semester-required boot camps, and facilitate the course-required meetings with the Dallas Cowboys leadership team. Staff member will help to develop and maintain a database of industry connections and provide one-on-one advising and mentoring on internships and career development with the current student population.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Job Duties

  • Build structure/database for industry network to formalize network and maintain accurate data, records, and files to track the activities, achievements, participation, progress, and status of individual students for internships, job shadowing, and mentorships. Collect data for analysis, evaluation, and program improvement to develop reports on the statistical data for all internship opportunities and present to appropriate groups.ย 
  • Maintain and expand current network of sport executives who engage with program and/or students. Coordinates with recruiters, employing organizations, and internship supervisors to verify student submitted information in the for-credit internship approval and ensure that employers/intern supervisors are completing required internship evaluations according to for-credit course requirements.ย 
  • Organize and support sport management faculty with guest speakers and industry class projects. May participate in employer site visits in support of internship program during interns work semester.ย 
  • Liaison between industry and SENM faculty; As well as Wilson Jones Career Center (WJCC), Undergraduate Advising, Graduate Program Office, and Sport Entertainment faculty and students.ย 
  • Advise MBA and BBA SENM students on professional development and provide career coaching for students seeking or requiring internships or employment. Serve as liaison to the WJCC for internship processing and collaborate with that office to ensure timely and accurate completion of internship processing. Provide workshops on professional development (personal branding, networking, etc.). Manage private LinkedIn Program page for SENM students.ย 
  • Organize and manage Boot Camps for MBA programs with Cowboys, annual Symposium/career fair as part of Fall Bootcamp, and Cowboys Connect sessions (zoom conversations with Cowboys executives). Carry out and complete any other SENM related events.ย 
  • Maintain budgets for all SENM accounts and ensure compliance with university and college policies and procedures, including purchasing, use of the university procurement card, and travel card for the SENM program. Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the SENM programย
