We are currently seeking a Cyber Security Intern to support our team, DOE Office of Legacy Management (DOE LM) sites.

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential job duties that are specific to the position.

1. Technical report writing and documentation

2. Provide information and systems security support supervised by other team members.

3. Analyzesecurity logs and reports from firewalls and boundary protection devices todetect, investigate, and report onpotential threats to system confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

4. Identify vulnerabilities that are applicable to systems and applications to assess their severity and urgency.

5. Work with other IT staff to track corrective action, resolution progress, and mitigation of vulnerabilities.

6. Conduct researchon emerging cyber threats and threat actors to help develop and refine threat intelligence campaigns.

7. Assist in developing materials for security awareness programs.

8. Assistin troubleshooting and resolving issues with cybersecurity controls to ensure their effective operation.

9. Support operations and maintenance of cybersecurity toolsets.

10. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, and EXPERIENCE

The minimum education, licenses, certifications (if any) and experience needed to perform the essential duties of this position.

Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program pursuing a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

Experience: No experience required.

Licenses: Valid Driver's License.

Certifications: No professional certification required.
