The Johns Hopkins Hospital is proud to offer a post-primary program in MRI for technologists who are interested in advancing their career in the field of medical imaging. This is an exciting opportunity to advance your career, while being paid!
Learn to perform diagnostic MRI of organs, organ systems and blood flow studies in provided classroom and clinical settings. Training includes MRI Anatomy, Protocols and Procedures, MRI Physics, MRI Safety and IV Certification. Clinical experiences offer interactions with a variety of patient populations including Inpatient, Outpatient, Critical Care, Trauma, Pediatrics, and Oncology. Obtain didactic and clinical requirements to prepare for advanced certification in the field of MRI. Upon graduation, a two-year work requirement at any Johns Hopkins location is required.
In this position you have the opportunity to rotate to 1 or more of the following free-standing Imaging site locations in addition to The Johns Hopkins Hospital:
  • Bethesda: 6420 Rockledge Dr, suite 3100, Bethesda, MD 20817
  • Wilde Lake: 10840 Little Patuxent Parkway, Suite 300, Columbia, MD 21044
  • Greenspring: 10755 Falls Rd, Pavilion 3, Lutherville/Timonium, MD 21093
  • White Marsh: 4924 Campbell Blvd, Suite 105, Nottingham, MD 21236

This program takes advantage of the wide range of imaging resources available at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Outpatient Center, and Johns Hopkins Imaging sites. These clinical facilities provide training on state-of-the-art equipment and clinical experiences that may not be found at other institutions. The Johns Hopkins Hospital is consistently recognized as one of the premier health care organizations in the United States and the world. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Completion of an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
  • ARRT link: ARRT MRI Post Primary Eligibility
  • ARRT certified with current registration
  • CPR certification within three months of employment
  • No experience required

Required documents for Application Submission:
  1. Resume that includes two mandatory reference names and email address of:
      • Present Employer
      • Imaging Program Director or Instructor in the past 2 years. If more than 2 years have passed since you graduated, please submit 2nd current employer reference
  1. Cover Letter
  2. Transcripts from Medical Imaging Program and any previous school/college transcripts from past 5 years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Have a strong desire and willingness to learn with ability to apply learned skills in the clinical environment
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply self-initiative and direction
  • Effective communication skills to interact with patients, technologists, instructors, and other personnel
  • Effective interpersonal skills for instructing and orienting patients, physicians, and medical staff.
  • High level of analytical skills with attention to detail is required to perform appropriate scan based on the patient's history and protocol

Program Start: February, 2027
Shift:
Full Time (40 hours)
Day Shift, 6:30am-3:00pm (primary)
Evening shifts required up to 4 weeks during the 6-month program

Salary Range: Minimum 34.62/hour - Maximum 57.19/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
