The Front End Developer Intern is will provide hands-on development support to our front end/UX engineering queue. They will work on remediating open items from our accessibility audit, allowing us to accelerate WCAG compliance work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete front end development tasks from the team's active backlog
  • Remediate accessibility audit findings, including semantic HTML, ARIA attributes, keyboard navigation, color contrast, and focus management
  • Build and update responsive UI components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Test work across browsers, devices, and assistive technology
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and QA validation cycles
  • Collaborate directly with the UX Design Intern and design team to translate mockups into working interfaces

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; exposure to a modern framework is a plus
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and general development workflow
  • Interest in or coursework covering web accessibility and WCAG standards
  • Comfort with browser developer tools and debugging
