Job description

Our Editorial department is seeking a three-month intern to help manage our growing list of manga, manhwa, and graphic novels. The position is part-time (28 hours per week) and offers an hourly wage. *Japanese language skills are a must.* Commute to the Manhattan office will be required.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Enter Editorial and Copyediting changes into InDesign files
* Download/upload data and sort them accordingly
* Perform administrative duties, including but not limited to: photocopying, scanning, maintaining library, sorting mail, filing, directing/responding to phone calls, etc.
* Write and correct back cover and catalog copy
* Contribute to Editorial passes on pending manuscripts
* Traffic editorial projects through Production and Copyediting
* Other duties as assigned
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:*
* Passion and interest in manga, manhwa, and graphic novels required
* Japanese language proficiency required
* Solid computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Adobe Suite (particularly InDesign) strongly preferred
* Excellent time management and organizational skills
* Keen eye for detail with a strong desire to learn and improve
* An ability to attend to details and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
* Excellent writing ability with a polished ear for dialogue
* Bachelor’s degree in English preferred
* Polished communication and interpersonal skills
