Language Trainers is an international language training company working with freelance teachers of 99+ languages in hundreds of cities worldwide. Founded in 2004, our motto is Any Language, Anytime, Anywhere (and Online).
We provide customized language training to professionals and private students for work, family, and travel purposes.
📍 Position Details
We are currently looking for a freelance Japanese Teacher for one of our clients in Columbia, United States.
  • Reference ID: 1132146
  • Course Type: General
  • Format: one-to-one
  • Total Hours: 20
  • Session length: two hours
  • Location: at the trainer's office or at a quiet public location such as a library in Columbia, SC.
  • Student Level: Elementary
  • Student Age Group: 18-24
  • Student's Schedule: once per week (any day outside of Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday are preferred between 1 and 7 o'clock)
  • Student's Preferred Start Date: 2026-09-28
  • Student's Motivation: I am learning Japanese because my long-term goal is to develop functional proficiency and eventually reach approximately JLPT N3 level. I plan to pursue a technical career and would like Japanese to become a practical skill that I can use comfortably in real conversations. I am also looking for structured lessons because consistency and accountability are currently my biggest challenges.

  • Be a native Japanese speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification
  • Have experience as a language teacher, translator or interpreter
  • Have a valid work permit/visa
  • Live within 20 miles of the specified location
