Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented College Accounting Intern to support the Accounting Department. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations within the energy / real estate industry.

You will work directly with experienced accountants on core accounting tasks, gaining practical knowledge of financial processes, internal controls, and accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities
  • Help prepare and reconcile journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Maintain and update financial spreadsheets and supporting schedules
  • Assist with invoice processing, expense reports, and payment runs
  • Participate in bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
  • Help compile data for financial statements and management reports
  • Support internal audit preparation and compliance documentation
  • Perform data entry and analysis in accounting software and Excel
  • Work on special projects such as process improvement, cost analysis, or budgeting support
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled as a college student (Junior or Senior preferred) pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Completion of core Accounting courses (Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Intermediate Accounting preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
