FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2026-2027

TITLE: Administrative Intern

CLASSIFICATION: Certified Position

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

LOCATION: Greenville Elementary School

Interviews to be held the week of June 22, 2026.

Pay & Benefits: This position is paid in accordance with the CBA for Teachers starting at level O (15) and eligible for the same benefits as Teachers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates must hold a valid Building Level Administrator License or persons currently working toward an administrative license to be completed by August 2026;
  • have a minimum of 3-5 years successful teaching experience at the elementary level (K-6);
  • have demonstrated superior ability to work with peers, supervisory staff, parents, and students;
  • projects a positive image to staff and the public; and
  • have demonstrated leadership qualities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school; serves as a principal in the absence of the regular principal.
  • Supervises preparation of student registration/scheduling; assists to develop class schedules and extracurricular activities.
  • Assists in safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
  • Supervises reporting/monitoring of student attendance; works with the attendance clerk, social worker, and counselors for follow-up actions.
  • Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body.
  • Serves with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
  • Conducts Special Education Case Conferences.
  • Performs such record-keeping functions as the principal may direct.
  • Supervises and evaluates teachers and departments as assigned by the principal. Leads in the development, determination of appropriateness, and monitor of the instructional program.
  • Assists in teacher orientation/training, with special responsibility for staff administrative procedures and instruction.
  • Assists in the preparation for and administration of all student testing.
  • Assists in the supervision of safe arrival and dismissal of students.
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position in conjunction with the Principal supervises the certified and classified staff in the building.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
