POSITION TITLE: Business Intelligence Engineer
REPORTS TO: VP, Marketing amp; Analytics
PAY GRADE: 13
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
FLSA STATUS: Exempt (Salary)
LOCATION: Hybrid, 7101 East 56th Street, Indianapolis, 46226
The Business Intelligence Engineer’s primary responsibility is to design, develop, and maintain the data architecture, data pipelines, and data warehousing systems that support Financial Center’s business intelligence, analytics, and reporting needs. The Business Intelligence Engineer will work closely with the Business Intelligence Team, stakeholders, and Core Services to develop and publish reports and analysis that answer complex business questions to be used for actionable initiatives. This includes gathering data, using judgment and independent thinking to analyze data, and managing the building of high-quality predictive models.
The Business Intelligence Engineer will also ensure the quality and accuracy of the data warehouse, other reporting systems, and any reports or analysis that Business Intelligence is responsible for. The Business Intelligence Engineer will also lead manage and hold accountable the Data Analyst.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Lead, manage and hold accountable the Data Analyst ensuring individual and departmental growth as our descriptive, predictive and prescriptive data needs mature. Responsible for the development and training of staff , ensuring staff are well trained in all phases of their jobs. Administers annual, monthly, and in-moment coaching and review of employee performance. Sets goals for the upcoming month and develops plans to improve employee performance
  • Design and develop data architecture, data pipelines, and data warehousing systems that support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting needs.
  • Collect, transform, and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports that provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.
  • Manages data vendors and data integrity (internal and external) - including daily administration and use of data warehouse and providing daily performance tracking, reports and dashboards, predictive models and other analysis as requested by departments.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and security of the data in the data warehouse and supporting intelligence platforms.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, BI Team and the Core Team to identify opportunities for improving data collection/clean up, analysis, and reporting processes.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in business intelligence, data warehousing, and data analytics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE amp; SKILLS REQUIRED
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related eld is preferred
  • Five or more years of equivalent work experience.
  • Three or more years of financial industry experience as a business analyst, programmer or marketing analyst is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining data architecture, data pipelines, and data warehousing systems.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, ETL, and data modeling.
  • Advanced experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills. Detail oriented with an ability to work in deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to self-initiate areas of opportunity, make recommendations for improvement, and follow up as necessary to achieve desired results.
  • Strong desire and willingness to learn new technologies, processes, industry changes, systems and products to improve skills amp; knowledge.
ADA REQUIREMENT
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel o site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
MENTAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
