Job Summary: Performs a variety of routine and special diagnostic procedures on clinical specimens for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Performs high complexity testing according to established procedures. Validates and report results of tests performed. Performs and documents Quality Control. Performs instrument and equipment maintenance according to policy and procedures. Maintains adequate stock of reagents and supplies. Participates in continuing education.

Minimum Qualifications: Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: B.S. Degree in Medical Technology or related science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or Certificate of Completion of a Medical Technology Training program OR Associate Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science WITH ASCP Certification as Medical Technologist MT(ASCP) Equipment Operated: PC, printers, scanners Special Requirements: Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact) Writing /Composing (Correspondence/Reports) Other Skills: Analytical, CRT, Medical Terms, Research, Statistical, P.C., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access Advance Training/Specialty: Certification by approved certification agencies, i.e., ASCP, NCA, AMT is preferred. Other Requirements: Travel between HCHD facilities.
