Job Profile
Job Summary
The Pathologist Assistant supports anatomic pathology services by performing complex gross examinations of surgical specimens and assisting with intra-operative consultations under the supervision of pathologists. This role ensures timely and accurate diagnostic support, maintains specimen integrity, and upholds regulatory standards. The PA also contributes to education by mentoring residents and students, while actively participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory performance and patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees:
- Master's Degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant Program
Licenses & Certifications
- Pathologist Assistant: from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP-PA) - must obtain licensure within 365 days of employment
