Your future role on our team

BBA is looking for a senior structural engineer withexpertise in dams and hydropower to join our team. You'll be the technicalreference for detailed engineering and constructability in dam design and damsafety, with a primary focus on structural engineering aspects for concrete,steel and composite dam structures and ancillary facilities.

You'll work with colleagues in your office, across Canadaand the Americas toward one bottom line. Your impact will come fromcollaborating with these teams to bring high quality, technical, creativesolutions to our clients. BBA will support your growth and development andencourages knowledge-sharing and mentorship.

With us, you'll get the opportunity to...

  • Lead and contribute to dam safety reviews and dam safety inspections to support technical reports, with an emphasis on structural performance and safety
  • Support and lead detailed structural design and rehabilitation and upgrade engineering for dams and ancillary structures, including spillways, powerhouses, intake structures, penstocks, outlet works and gates
  • Perform structural analysis and design of concrete and steel dam components, including static, dynamic, thermal and seismic analyses in accordance with applicable codes and CDA guidelines
  • Prepare and review tender documents and construction packages and provide technical support during procurement
  • Provide construction supervision and engineering support, including review of shop drawings, construction submittals and site inspections, as required
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers
  • Participate in businessdevelopment activities, including proposal preparation, technical writing,client presentations and participation in industry conferences and committees
