Job Description We are seeking a Data Analyst (Intermediate) to join our dynamic team supporting legal and records governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in records and information management, data lifecycle governance, and defensible deletion and a proven ability to produce clear, custom-formatted data reports and communicate professionally with outside counsel to drive accurate retention or destruction outcomes. Responsibilities: Turn project requirements into custom-formatted data reports for Project Managers and legal stakeholders. Manage end-to-end data generation, validation, and delivery with clear documentation and audit trails. Exchange emails with law firms to evaluate JPMC data in outside counsel custody and determine appropriate retention or destruction. Apply records appraisal principles, legal hold requirements, and data retention policies to disposition decisions. Outline critical information and decision points for Project Managers and leadership. Maintain accurate tracking of matters, communications, and outcomes in matter or document management tools. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience with records management, information governance, data management, or information management. Knowledge of data lifecycle concepts, retention schedules, legal hold, and defensible deletion. Proficiency creating structured data reports and summaries using common office and data tools. Clear and professional written communication for correspondence with attorneys and law firms. Ability to work confidently and independently while meeting deadlines and quality standards. 3-6 years of relevant experience. Preferred Skills: Background in records appraisal, archives, document control, or document management systems. Experience with matter management, outside counsel engagement, ediscovery, ESI, and data preservation. Exposure to information governance frameworks and data retention program operations. Familiarity with litigation hold and defensible disposition practices. Disqualifiers: No experience with records or data management. No experience communicating with attorneys or law firms.
