Job Summary

Oldcastle APG is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to join our finance team! The position will report to the Assistant Controller. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Finance Department by performing multiple general accounting and controls functions. 

Job Location

This is a hybrid role based out of our North Salt Lake, UT site. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Record both monthly and standard journal entries to the general ledger
  • Ensure timely and accurate month end closing
  • Perform account analysis and reconciliation for both balance sheet and expense G/L accounts
  • Perform financial analysis as requested by the Controller and other management
  • Support operating plants, AP and AR functions as requested
  • Run daily and month-end reports for management
  • Assist with request related to internal and external audits
  • Ensure internal controls are maintained to safeguard the financial assets of the company
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent in a combination of experience, training, and education
  • Cost & Inventory accounting preferred
  • Ability to apply logical thinking to gathering and analyzing information
  • Knowledge of accounting software, ERP software, minimum intermediate Excel spreadsheet and Word software knowledge
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detailed oriented and possess strong organization skills
  • Maintain attention to deadlines and ensure timely completion of assigned accounting tasks, reports and reconciliation.
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with employees at all levels of the organization
