Job description

The Associate Visual Merchandiser is a hands-on role that supports the execution of Four Hands' visual merchandising across showrooms, markets, and events. This role is responsible for bringing creative direction to life through thoughtful product styling, prop sourcing, and showroom upkeep.

Working closely with Visual Merchandisers and Production partners, this role contributes to the creation of inspiring, on-brand environments that showcase our product with clarity, scale, and storytelling in mind. This is a strong growth role designed for someone building foundational skills in styling, visual composition, and production execution. 

In This Role

Showroom Styling & Execution

  • Support styling and re-styling of furniture and accessories in showrooms, markets, and events, ensuring alignment with creative direction 
  • Assist in executing showroom setups for High Point and Las Vegas markets (4x per year), including pre-market prep and on-site installation  

Prop & Asset Management

  • Organize, maintain, and inventory props, styling tools, and showroom materials 
  • Source, purchase, and manage props (including vintage items, florals and food styling elements) to support creative concepts 
  • Care for and maintain plants and florals used in showroom environments  

Production & Prep

  • Prepare soft goods (steaming, ironing) to ensure presentation standards are met 
  • Partner with Production and Visual Merchandising teams to ensure the right products and materials are available for styling needs 
  • Support logistics such as errands, pickups, and material sourcing to keep projects moving efficiently  

Showroom Standards 

  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards across showroom spaces 
  • Ensure all styled environments remain customer-ready and aligned with brand expectations 

Market & Travel Support 

  • Travel approximately 8+ times per year for pre-planning trips and market installations (up to 10 days on-site) 
  • Assist with on-site execution during market, including styling adjustments, resets, and general floor support

The Ideal Person

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, Fine Arts, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)  
  • Foundational understanding of visual composition (scale, balance, proportion, contrast)  
  • Ability to follow creative direction and execute with strong attention to detail  
  • Basic understanding of interior styling and product presentation  
  • Ability to source visual inspiration and reference imagery that aligns with creative direction 
  • Open to feedback and able to apply it quickly to improve work  
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to support team execution  
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to maintain clean, presentation-ready showroom environments  
  • Resourceful and proactive in solving problems and sourcing materials  
  • Ability to support prop sourcing and purchasing, including basic organization of materials and inventory  
  • Ability to assist with product and styling prep (including steaming and material readiness) 
  • Proficiency in basic tools (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and presentation software)  
  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods and support physical setup (lifting, ladder use, steaming, etc.)  
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently for market and pre-production trips  
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
