Job description

Collective Design is seeking an Associate Interior Designer to join our team in Frisco, Colorado. We createbespoke luxury residencesthroughout the MountainWest,from custom mountain homes to comprehensive whole-home renovations, where every element from finishes to the final furnishingsare chosen with intention.Our projects typically range from 3,000 to 10,000+ square feet, with clients who are deeply invested in the process and the outcome.The mountains are right outside the door, and so is some of the most meaningful design work of your career.

The Role: The Associate Designer is an integral part of the project team, contributing to both the creative and technical aspects of design. You will support concept development, produce detailed documentation, coordinate vendors and specifications, and help ensure that each project is delivered seamlessly, from idea to installation. This position is ideal for a designer who enjoys balancing creative problem-solving with structured, detail-oriented work in a collaborative, high-performance environment.


What You Will Own

  • Design Documentation: Develop and maintain accurate floor plans, elevations, schedules, and specifications that clearly communicate design intent and support successful project execution.
  • Concept Development & Visualization: Contribute to the creative process through research, renderings, and material selections that align with and elevate the overall design vision.
  • FF&E Support & Specification: Assist in sourcing and documenting furnishings, fixtures, and finishes with attention to budget, performance, lead times, and design cohesion.
  • Procurement Coordination: Support the purchasing process through order tracking, vendor communication, and timeline management to help ensure projects stay on schedule and within scope.
  • Project Execution: Partner with Senior and Lead Designers to maintain momentum across all phases, proactively managing tasks, tracking details, and upholding quality standards throughout.
  • Presentation Development: Support the creation of polished, client-facing materials that communicate ideas clearly and reflect the level of work we deliver.
  • Onsite Installation & Styling: Participate in installations, punch lists, and final styling to ensure each project is executed with precision and care.

Who You Are

  • You bring 3-5 years of experience in residential interior design or a similar project-based environment, with exposure to both creative development and technical documentation.
  • You are detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple moving pieces while maintaining clarity and consistency.
  • You are proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools, and are comfortable producing documentation that supports construction and installation.
  • You are collaborative by nature, communicating clearly and contributing positively to team dynamics and project outcomes.
  • You approach your work with both creativity and structure, enjoying the balance of design exploration and disciplined execution.
  • You take pride in your work and are motivated by high standards, accountability, and being part of a team that delivers exceptional results.

This role is based in Frisco, Colorado, a mountain town at 9,000 feet surrounded by some of the finest skiing, hiking, cycling, and climbing in North America.
