Position Summary

Home Glo is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Home Staging Assistant to support the preparation, installation, and styling of residential properties throughout the Chicagoland area. This hands-on role requires an individual who is physically capable of moving furniture and décor while also possessing an eye for design, balance, and presentation. Working closely with the owner, you will help transform homes into thoughtfully curated spaces that leave a lasting impression on prospective buyers.


The ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, and takes pride in producing high-quality work. In addition to assisting with staging installations and warehouse organization, this individual should be comfortable contributing ideas, offering design input, and working as part of a team to create inviting, market-ready interiors. We are looking for someone who values professionalism, reliability, and has an appreciation for thoughtful design and exceptional client service.


This is a part-time, independent contractor (1099) opportunity with flexible weekday scheduling based on project needs.


Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Home Staging Assistant, you will work alongside the Home Glo team to prepare, stage, and style residential properties throughout the Chicagoland area.


Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and arranging furniture, artwork, rugs, lighting, and décor.
  • Collaborate with the owner and staging team to create visually appealing, market-ready interiors.
  • Contribute creative ideas regarding furniture placement, styling, and overall room presentation.
  • Prepare homes for staging by organizing furnishings and ensuring each space is presentation-ready.
  • Assist with inventory management, including organizing, wrapping, and maintaining furniture and décor.
  • Help with staging installations, de-staging appointments, and warehouse organization.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
  • Handle furnishings and accessories with care to preserve quality.
  • Represent Home Glo professionally while interacting with clients, Realtors®, builders, and vendors.
  • Perform other staging-related duties as assigned to support daily operations.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following:


Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry furniture and décor (approximately 50 lbs) and remain active throughout the workday.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and adaptable.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.


Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Merchandising, Marketing, Fine Arts, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in home staging, interior design, visual merchandising, furniture retail, hospitality, or residential real estate.
  • Familiarity with current interior design trends and home presentation.
  • Comfortable using basic technology, including smartphones, email, and scheduling applications.


Recent graduates and individuals beginning their careers in interior design, home staging, or related fields are encouraged to apply.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely lift and move furniture and décor weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
