As a result, we are looking for an Interior Design Professional who is passionate about working with our customers and their families, both in-store and in their homes, to design their ideal spaces.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate and/or Bachelor Degree in Interior Design Required. ASID Certification Highly Preferred.
  • Hours/Scheduling: Full-Time; 40-45 hours per week (hours may vary). Retail hours and scheduling required, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays and/or special events. Flexible scheduling options available.
  • Travel: Ability to travel/commute to different store and customer home/client site locations.

Purpose/Summary:

The Interior Design Professional will work with our customers and their families, both in-store and in their homes, to help create their ideal living spaces through professional sales, interior design, and decorating services. The Interior Design Professional will provide The Companys home furnishings, including furniture, mattresses, accessories, and home dcor solutions, to all customers and clients. Decorating Studio packages and services will be offered to fulfill each customers individual needs.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Working one-on-one with customers in our showrooms and their homes, while finding furnishings that best match their styles and budget.
  • Determining reasons for the customers visits and to help provide solutions in their homes, whether their need is one recliner or a roomful of customized furniture and dcor.
  • Completing phone and in-home consultations with customers, as purchased through our Decorating Studio Packages.
  • Designing and presenting customized room/space plans for customers, tailored to their individual needs.
  • Continuous learning and development; working with management, your team and/or vendors to develop knowledge of products, innovative sales techniques, reviewing current sales and promotions and becoming an expert in the field.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maximize excellent customer service and customer satisfaction.
  • Meets and/or exceeds minimum sales standards and assigned sales goals.
  • Maintains ongoing relationships with customers through continued contact.
  • Prospects new customers through various networking and clienteling efforts.
  • Completes all required initial and ongoing sales training programs and attends required store meetings.
  • Communicates with all internal/external customers, clients, management and/or colleagues in a professional manner.
  • Works independently and/or cooperatively with others as part of a team. Works along-side other departments such as office/customer service and dock associates, and completing various other duties like tagging furniture, setting up for special events, etc.
  • Assists with financing options, purchasing, recommending protection plans/products and delivery scheduling and follow-up.
  • Building your business within The Company; following up with previous customers and new leads being generated, networking and even advertising your services on social media.
  • Utilizes computerized systems, IPads and/or other technological tools, including internal customer/client databases. Utilizes computerized design programs as well.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures and performs other duties as required/assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:

  • High-energy, entrepreneurial and team-oriented people person.
  • Excellent and effective communication and listening skills.
  • Willingness to learn and the ability to be trained/coached.
  • Customer service experience (face-to-face preferred).
  • Previous Interior Design experience and/or education required.
  • Any sales, upselling, and/or marketing experience and/or education preferred.
  • Experience and/or proficiency with computerized-based systems and technologies; i.e. Windows, Microsoft Office, POS Systems, digital/mobile devices, etc.
  • Ability to meet physical demands and requirements of the position and working environment.
