The Senior Interior Designer is an integral member of a project team, working on all phases of projects from planning and conceptual design through construction. While working with mentorship from the Interior Design Director, design responsibilities and duties include leading interior design efforts on multiple and often largescale projects, mentoring interior design staff, and participating as a champion of business development activities.


What you will do:

  • Lead, research, source, price inquires, compile material finishes, furniture, and lighting concepts.
  • Form a strong design concept which aligns with the clients vision and brand, is appropriate to the clients budget, and within established range of design fee.
  • Interface with clients regularly as an account lead and play a key role in business development efforts.
  • Lead client design meetings and be responsible for coordinating presentation content including design models and renderings.
  • Regularly delegate work to junior team members within realistic expectations and timeframes.
  • Join and prepare design content for internal project team meetings.
  • Oversee progression of construction documents and be responsible for Interior Design deliverables.
  • Be responsible for quality control of support staffs work using BIM and other technology tools as well as familiarity and support of Taylor design office standards as it relates to documentation.
  • Communicate with vendors, consultants, contractors, and other disciplines to progress coordination of interior architecture and construction administration.
  • Participate in continuing education events in the office and attends external professional development events and conferences to stay abreast of market trends and offerings.
  • Provide direction to Interior Designers to build and maintain regional office finish library.
  • Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and have the ability to realign project teams to ensure work is complete as planned, budgeted, and scheduled.
  • Support proposal efforts by developing project fees, timelines, and scope for Interior Design projects.

What you will have:

  • Bachelors degree in Interior Design, Architecture or similar education or experience.
  • 10+ years of Interior Design experience.
  • NCIDQ or CID accreditation.
  • Experience in Healthcare, Science and Technology, and/or Workplace design projects of scale.
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and visualization software such as Enscape or Lumion, preferred.
  • Experience in creating applicable design concepts and preparing material palettes.
  • Experience with Construction Administration including RFIs, submittals, and an understanding of construction processes and schedule.
