WHO IS LEE DOUGLAS INTERIORS
Lee Douglas is an interior design firm specializing in space planning and drafting, construction management, including new builds and remodels, offering building products such as lighting and flooring as well as final styling. In addition to our design specialty, we have two types of retail stores. Lee Douglas Interiors, that offers furniture, artwork, and accessories, and our sister store, The Loft, which is a themed store that sells finishing touches for every room in the house.
POSTION OBJECTIVE
The Assistant Retail Store Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the retail store's daily operations and assisting the Retail Manager in achieving sales targets, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a well-organized and efficient store environment. This position is responsible for ensuring store policies and procedures are followed and involves engaging with customers, understanding their needs and explaining the products and services we provide.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business, marketing, interior design, or related field is a plus
  • Proven experience in retail with a demonstrated ability to take on responsibilities as needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale systems
  • Customer-focused with dedication to delivering outstanding service
  • Organizational and multitasking skills
  • Basic math skills for cash handling
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced retail environment

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in overseeing the overall operation of the store site, including opening and closing procedures
  • Ensure that the store is well maintained, clean, and organized
  • Ensure that customers receive excellent service by assisting with inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a positive shopping experience
  • Operate point-of-sale system and handle transactions
  • Address customer feedback and escalate issues to Retail Manager or member of leadership when necessary
  • Assist in achieving sales goals and targets through effective merchandising, product placement, and promotion
  • Stay updated on products, promotions, and upcoming events
  • Prepare inventory for merchandising including receiving, tagging, and placement
  • Must be able to work a rotating Saturday schedule, surrounding holidays, and evenings if necessary for events

SPECIAL DEMANDS
Retail positions require candidates to sit and operate at a computer for extended periods of time. Due to our industry and widespread client base, on occasion, overtime or travel may be required. Lee Douglas Interiors operates as Team LDI and often requires assistance from multiple departments on tasks in the warehouse or throughout the facility, candidates must be able to perform in environments of varying temperature and noise conditions. Positions require organization and inventory of merchandise and property; candidates must be able to perform on their feet and lift and carry merchandise for transfers and cataloging.
