Summary:

Senior Interior Designer at Ruby + Suede, you will play a pivotal role in transforming spaces into functional and aesthetically pleasing environments. Located in Minnesota's Twin Cities metro area, this position allows you to leverage your creativity and expertise to deliver outstanding designs that reflect our clients' visions. Senior Interior Designers at Ruby + Suede plan, design and coordinate the creation or renovation of the spaces we live and work in. As skilled Senior Interior Designers we need to be able to produce an interior that is personalized to client's taste and serves a functional purpose. You'll consider elements such as safety, traffic flow, comfort, and style in your designs. Along with providing furniture and furnishing to complete the overall project while meeting client's expectations and budget needs.

Pay: $50K - $62K + Commission

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with clients and other tradespeople such as architects or builders to discuss the needs of the client.
  • Developing designs according to a brief that are functional, appealing and appropriate for the space.
  • Using design software (such as Chief Architect) to create models and visuals.
  • Researching and preparing plans, diagrams or sketches for interior constructions, materials, finishes, lighting, furniture and furnishing.
  • Select furniture, materials, decor and finishes while keeping within budget
  • Selecting suppliers of materials and labor.
  • Estimating costs and submitting quotes for client approval.
  • Work within timely schedules to coordinate the completion of tasks through to final project completion
  • Inspecting and supervising the work of tradespeople to ensure that quality and safety standards, costs and deadlines are met.
  • Place orders for materials and oversee installing the design elements
  • Visit after the project to ensure that the client is satisfied
  • Communicate with Supervisors, Peers and Subcontractors by telephone, email, or in person on design requirements
  • Research of appliance specifications, various materials, accessories and more.
  • Consults with: Supervisors, Interior Design Staff, Project Managers, Subcontractors & Clients of Highmark Companies

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Creative thinking in developing, designing and creating new applications and ideas
  • Knowledge of the practices and principles of interior design
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Knowledge of CAD or other Computer -aided design software
  • The ability to visualize concepts and explain them to others
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Good Organization skills, to ensure each project stays on schedule and is completed within the allowed budget
  • Knowledge of the preparation of proposals and specifications for interior design work
  • Have an associate degree or certificate in a 2-3 year program, or a bachelor's degree in Interior Design / Fine Arts. Or enrolled in an Interior design program and looking for an apprenticeship.
  • Must have own transportation
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must pass a background check
  • CAD or other Computer -aided design software: 2 years (Required)
