  • You will provide technical support for managing safety efforts related to program compliance and oversight requirements for the Marine Corps, Department of the Navy, and Department of Defense.
  • You will conduct technical reviews, prepare technical documentation, and coordinate specialized safety expertise to address complex project issues and support successful program execution.
  • You will conduct programmatic safety evaluations throughout the program life cycle, identify actions and recommendations, and support improvements in safety, environmental protection, and pollution prevention.
  • You will prepare safety program documentation, monitor implementation, and revise program requirements in response to changes in statutory or regulatory guidance and identified system safety needs.
  • You will review proposed system safety engineering concepts, ensure safety considerations are included in trade studies and design alternatives, and determine whether hazard analyses adequately address system risks.
  • You will monitor occupational health exposures and incidents, recommend mitigation measures, evaluate equipment and personnel safety throughout the life cycle, and participate in technical reviews and advisory boards.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NJ-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1. Expert knowledge of and demonstrated experience in applying safety technical principles and the impact of SE on ESOH.
2. Expert knowledge of ESOH laws, requirements and regulations (DOD, DON, USMC, & MCSC) (Command level only)
3. Expert knowl_edge of ESOH concepts, principles, methods, and techniques.
4. Ability to work on a diverse team engaged in Defense Acquisition program management activities.
5. Knowledge of any of the following functional areas:
- Communications, Intelligence, and Networking Systems
- Ground transportation and engineering systems (i.e., Expeditionary Power, Motor Transportation)
- Information Systems and Infrastructure (i.e., Information Technology, Computing Platform Network Services)
- Infantry Weapon Systems (i.e., Anti-Armor, Infantry, Marine Expeditionary Rifle Squad, Rec Optics)
- Combat Equipment and Support Systems (i.e., Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Defense Infantry Combat/Equipment, Test Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment)
- Weapons/Sensors Development/Integration (i.e., MAGTF Ci, Air Defense, Radar, Unmanne Command/Control)
- Armor and Fire Support Systems (i.e., Expeditionary Fire Support, Artillery Rocket Systems, Tank, Assault Amphibious)
• Command and Control
- Information Technology Systems
- Counter Improvised Explosive Devices
6. Expert knowledge of ground safety requirements
7. Knowledge of acquisition processes and requjrements
8. Ability to distinguish Command ESOH Staff functions from program level requirements
