Description:
  • Leads the planning, implementation and maintenance of security and emergency services workplace technology-based systems including, but not limited to, security systems, emergency services, access control, and crisis management for Plant Spartanburg, Plant Woodruff, and BMW locations within South Carolina.
  • Executes complex operational and technical projects and ensures long-term requirements of security and emergency management systems and planning.
  • Acts as an interface with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain technology based security and emergency management ecosystems.
  • Maintains the BMW security control centers within South Carolina.
  • Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to identify, deploy and maintain effective security/emergency management IT systems and equipment for Plant Spartanburg, Plant Woodruff, and all BMW facilities within South Carolina.
  • Coordinates the IT of security and emergency management systems throughout the region, and acts as the secondary contact for all security IT topics.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert with regard to technical inquiries related to planning, implementation, maintenance, and compliance of all security and emergency management IT systems at BMW facilities within South Carolina.
  • Aligns standard operating procedures with the global network of workplace systems and BMW Group strategy.
  • Steers service request fulfillment for operational projects and coordinate non-standard requests. Leads escalation management of unresolved, singular incidents or service requests after an end user escalation.
  • Organizes physical access management for providers in relevant IT applications. Provides event, access, incident, and problem management as well as service request fulfillment for non-standard solutions.
  • Runs complex projects pertaining to security systems ensuring they are completed on time and within budget with only general direction from management.
  • Monitor reports to ensure service level agreements (SLA) are met and all processes are followed as necessary.
  • Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts.
  • Serves as an IT project manager for small-medium sized projects, oversees resources assigned, conducts status meetings, and effectively communicates the project status to stakeholders as delegated by the BMW Supervisor.
  • Consults with internal customers and external specialist agencies (e.g. architectural, engineering, IT, etc.).
  • Coordinates commissioning and decommissioning of security and emergency management IT systems in conjunction with business partners.
  • Creates process instructions to standardize end user knowledge of security and emergency management systems in order to minimize risk of operational failure. Supports the sustainability and operational status of Plant facilities technology systems during a crisis. Maintains Crisis Management equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
  • Oversee Security Control Center processes, systems, technology, hardware, and software to ensure all remain in legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains the Security and Emergency Response communication system for the security and emergency services team.
  • Provides budgetary input for maintenance and lifecycle replacement of Security and Emergency Response Systems.
  • Updates firmware on security systems to include cameras system, security control center equipment, communication equipment, etc.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in crisis management, crisis management IT equipment, and crisis communication systems.
  • Assists during emergency incidents to include emergency management, emergency response, communications, etc. Business travel as required to perform job duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • MS/MA/MPS degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Information Technology, Communication Systems, Strategic Planning, or related field (Preferred) OR BA/BS degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field OR AA/AS degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field AND the equivalent of 2 years of professional experience in information technology; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and the equivalent of 4 years of professional experience in information technology or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional IT project management experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience with security systems such as video management systems, alarm systems, communications systems, incident command, or other related fields.
  • 3+ years of technical experience in computer infrastructure in the areas of software, hardware, and related processes in operational production environment.
  • 3+ years of oral and written IT communication techniques experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in security/emergency management.
  • 2+ years of Security Control Center / Emergency Communications Center oversite experience. CPR/AED Certified (preferred). FEMA Incident Command ICS 300 and 400 level (preferred). FEMA Emergency Management ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 (preferred).
  • Valid Drivers License and eligible to participate in the BMW MC vehicle Program.
  • 5+ years of MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Access).
  • 5+ years of professional communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
  • 3+ years of skills working with external service providers.
  • 3+ years of problem solving and analytical skills.
  • 1+ years of working knowledge of BMW Group Incident Management Tools (ITSM, SMDB) (preferred).
  • 1+ years of working knowledge of BMW IT Component Lifecycle management (preferred)
