Job Summary
We are hiring a Security Systems Installer / Apprentice to assist with the installation, service, and maintenance of security and low-voltage systems.
This position is open to both experienced installers and motivated apprentices with low-voltage, electrical, construction, cabling, or hands-on mechanical experience. The right candidate should be dependable, willing to learn, comfortable working with tools, and able to follow directions in the field.
Work will include running cable, mounting devices, installing equipment, assisting with system setup, testing devices, and supporting senior technicians on commercial security projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Run, pull, route, label, and terminate low-voltage cable for security and technology systems.
- Install and mount devices such as cameras, card readers, door contacts, motion detectors, keypads, intercoms, control panels, power supplies, and access control hardware.
- Assist with installing CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion alarm, access control, intercom, and other low-voltage systems.
- Use ladders, hand tools, power tools, lifts, and basic construction methods safely and properly.
- Follow wiring diagrams, installation instructions, floor plans, and direction from lead technicians or project managers.
- Support troubleshooting of wiring, devices, network connections, power issues, and system operation.
- Test devices after installation to confirm proper function.
- Help maintain clean and organized work areas on job sites.
- Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and customers when needed.
- Document work performed, installed devices, cable locations, and any issues found in the field.
- Follow company standards for neat, professional, and reliable installations.
- Learn new products, systems, and installation methods as part of ongoing training.

Requirements
- Experience in security, low-voltage, electrical, cabling, construction, or a related hands-on field is preferred.
- Apprentice-level candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to run cable, mount equipment, and work neatly in commercial buildings.
- Comfortable working on ladders and in different job site conditions.
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Basic understanding of wiring, cabling, or electrical concepts is helpful.
- Basic computer or networking knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to read basic plans, drawings, or wiring diagrams is a plus.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Must be able to lift equipment, carry tools, and perform physical field work.
