Job Purpose

Intercontinental Exchange Inc. (ICE) is looking for a Senior Manager, Exchange Data, Content Strategy & Acquisition.

ICE is a leading global financial information services provider with an established track record of providing mission-critical, high quality financial information and value-added services, including real-time data, pricing and reference data, fixed income evaluations, security and portfolio analytics and customized financial information portals and terminals. 

We seek highly motivated candidates for an opportunity to join the Exchange Content Strategy & Acquisition team which supports ICE's third-party data content requirements and is responsible for the licensing, distribution and management of exchange content globally.   

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to support the exchange content strategy acquisition process at ICE by managing relationships and contract negotiations with global stock and derivatives exchanges, with a focus on (but not limited to) stock and derivatives exchanges in the Americas and EMEA.  

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders on exchange content requirements and strategy. 
  • Lead contractual negotiations with exchanges, securing group rights for data distribution, connectivity and internal usage rights for products and services world-wide.   
  • Review, analyze and negotiate exchange agreements and policies. 
  • Establish and maintain strong commercial relationships with exchange content providers. 
  • Negotiate and manage changes in exchange policies and fees and communicate updates to internal business lines.  
  • Manage exchange content rights and obligations, and make recommendations to the business on potential risks and suggested actions. 
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on exchange data used throughout the business, to promote content strategy and rights management for ICE. 
  • Have broad understanding of regulatory changes and their potential impact on exchange licenses and commercials. 
  • Coordinate with Finance on content acquisition, fee changes and budget forecasting.  
  • Support the management of third-party content data audits. 
  • Manage and contribute to exchange content projects. 
  • Participate in industry conferences and workshops.  

Knowledge and Experience

  • Advanced understanding of market data and of financial markets. 
  • Strong experience negotiating commercial agreements/strong negotiation skills. 
  • 7+ years with a market data vendor or market data department in a financial institution. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.  
  • Understanding of entitlement and billing systems. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, with ability to work with autonomy and to manage and adapt to change. 
  • Experience liaising with internal stakeholders and external vendors at all levels. 
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. 
  • Attention to detail in high volume and high activity situations. 
  • Strong familiarity of complex real time business use cases, end-of-day business use cases, and derived data use cases. 

New York Base Salary Range 

The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $150,000 - 185,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual. Regular full-time ICE employees are eligible for a suite of competitive employee benefits, including healthcare coverage (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) plan, life insurance, time off, and paid leave for qualifying circumstances.
