Job Description
This Interactive Producer position is an exciting opportunity for mid career professionals with web software development, IT and digital communications experience that are seeking a transition to leadership. The Interactive Producer will work closely with one of Polar Design's principals possessing 18 years experience in strategic and digital communications, branding software development. As a company, Polar Design excels in the management and implementation of cutting-edge and relevant interactive projects for a variety of clients. Examples include:
  • Secure portals and extranets for Benefit Funds, Insurance and other industries
  • Video website integration with broadcast systems
  • Custom e-commerce web site development and marketing
  • Government web sites

The position combines project management, technology, creative and account management roles and duties:
  1. Research and analysis of client needs
  2. Requirements definition and writing
  3. Developing detailed Design Specs of web site and software projects
  4. Draft wireframes, formal use cases and UML diagrams
  5. Crafting communication strategies and brand manuals for clients
  6. Supervise the creative, delivery and results of social media and e-mail marketing for the company and for select clients
  7. Establishing assignments, communicating tasks with in-house and freelance contract employees
  8. Monitoring project progress and managing contract and remote staff work to ensure on-time project delivery
  9. Ensuring web site quality by both arranging testing by others and engaging in QA with best of breed project management and testing tools
  10. Support projects with basic system administration support such as setting up Subversion repositories, server accounts, projects, DNS settings and more
  11. Regular documentation of projects, from work orders at the start to ensuring employees document project specific changes and improvements

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Bachelor Degree from an accredited 4 year university program
  2. At least 2 years of professional experience in web design or web software development
  3. Technical skills or demonstrated technology experience - e.g., simple network administration or web coding experience so we can verify your aptitude for learning new technologies
  4. Love of learning and desire to grow skills
  5. Permission to work in the US
  6. Strong communication skills
  7. Ability to solve problems quickly and completely, with minimal support from others
