Job Description

The 4th Hour of TODAY is looking for a Social Media Video Producer to lead digital content for Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones across social, digital, and TODAY.com.

This role is fully embedded with the show and talent, requiring someone who is confident working directly with on-air personalities and celebrity guests in fast-paced, high-visibility environments. They will partner closely with broadcast producers, bookers, and our digital teams to ensure every segment and guest has a strong, strategic digital extension.

This producer will own the end-to-end execution of content - from ideation through publishing - while driving social franchise development, real-time coverage, video extensions, and editorial output for TODAY.com.

This position is represented by the News Guild – NY CWA.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead real-time digital coverage of the 4th Hour -- clipping, editing, and publishing high-impact moments as they happen
  • Own talent coverage, regularly shadowing Jenna & Sheinelle (in-studio, backstage, pre/post-show) to identify and capture social-first content
  • Work closely with broadcast producers and booking teams to plan ahead for segments and maximize celebrity guest appearance across platforms
  • Concept, build, and lead social franchises (recurring formats, games, interview styles, audience callouts) featuring on-air talent and guests
  • Turn each segment and guest into multiple pieces of content (social clips, backstage, quick-turn formats, extended interviews)
  • Produce original digital content - from social to video and today.com articles - with talent and celebrity guests, both in-studio and around 30 Rock
  • Collaborate with our original video team to produce Jenna & Sheinelle-related video content
  • Act as a key bridge between broadcast and digital
  • Collaborate with today.com on editorial content tied to the 4th Hour, including pitching and helping produce and package TODAY.com stories, recaps, and guest-driven content
  • Ensure consistency across broadcast segments, social coverage, and site storytelling

Execution + Strategy

  • Lead end-to-end execution: scripting, editing, writing, publishing, and optimizing content
  • Oversee on-site and in-studio digital activations, including audience callouts and interactive segments
  • Use performance data to iterate on formats and franchises, scaling what works
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, live production environment

Key Focus Areas

  • Talent + celebrity-driven content ownership
  • Social franchise development and scaling
  • Deep integration with broadcast and daily rundown
  • Original video ideas
  • TODAY.com editorial ownership
  • Real-time, in-studio execution
  • Multi-platform storytelling (IG, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, TODAY.com)
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in digital production, editing, or multi-platform content in a newsroom, studio, or entertainment environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven experience working directly with on-air talent and/or celebrity guests, with strong judgment and professionalism in high-profile settings
  • Strong video editing skills (Premiere preferred) with the ability to execute quickly and at a high level
  • Deep understanding of social platforms, formats, and audience behavior
  • Strong writing skills across social and editorial
  • Experience working in-studio and in real time, with tight turnarounds
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously

Desired Characteristics:

    • Experience building and scaling social franchises or repeatable formats
    • Experience producing and/or pitching original video series
    • Background in morning TV, lifestyle, or entertainment content
    • Experience with digital editorial packaging
    • Basic shooting skills (iPhone/DSLR) and light motion graphics

    Additional Requirements:

    • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office in New York a minimum of four days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
