Overview

In this position, you will use your consulting and project management skills to lead teams during all phases of implementation including requirements, analysis, design, build/configuration, and deployment. You will manage the scope, schedule, and budget to provide our customers and strategic partners with meaningful solutions.

 This team supports Defense and Intel customers. You will be part of a talented cross-functional team of dynamic and passionate professionals to deliver capabilities that enable our customers to make a difference in communities around the world. You will be part of a team that influences lasting contributions for communities with the work you do.

The Professional Services division is the consulting and implementation arm of Esri. We break ground in new markets, push the technology envelope, and ultimately deliver transformational solutions to high profile clients worldwide. The Professional Services organization is comprised of nearly 1,000 talented business and technical professionals who strive every day to help our users be successful.

Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Vienna, VA area for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Manager complex technology projects and programs: Collaborate with Esri consultants to delivery high-quality solutions that align with project timelines, budget expectations, and customer objectives. Drive successful project outcomes by effectively managing and communicating scope, schedule, and budget to provide our customers and strategic partners with meaningful solutions. While leading strategic engagements with key stakeholders on opportunity development, proposal development, and project execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives and managing expectations. 
  • Engage with our customers. Work with customers to understand the value of location within their workflows by creating outstanding proposals and winning work with strategic customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong geospatial background to enable walking clients through the process of spatial thinking. 
  • Develop and grow business. Lead business development by defining project and proposal strategies that further technology and implementation patterns with new and existing customers. Collaborate with a team of domain subject matter experts, software developers, and consultants that are dedicated to developing new business strategies and actively influencing strategic direction to supporting Defense and Intel customers and their mission critical systems and applications.
  • Be a thought leader. Advise customers regarding innovative solutions using Esri technology and content to drive better decision-making. Recommend relevant strategies, architectures, and solutions and work with customers to prepare implementation and migration strategies. 

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a similar position, supporting similar responsibilities
  • Professional experience leading and managing IT based projects
  • An understanding of Defense and Intel customer needs developed through experience supporting Defense and/or Intel customers
  • Strong project management skills, with demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and translate customer's business goals, objectives, and strategies into technical plans and solutions
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, whether to other technical peers or non-technical peers or customers
  • Proposal writing experience, including preparing executive summaries, solution definition, scope of services, staffing, and pricing
  • Entrepreneurial attitude
  • US citizenship and active TS Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or related STEM field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience with ArcGIS, location-based services, geo-enabled apps, spatial analysis, or similar geospatial technology 
  • Experience with current technology implementation patterns including service-oriented and cloud computing architecture
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Polygraph
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or related STEM field
