Overview

Physicians Mutual is seeking a Pet Insurance & Annuity Customer Representative to provide exceptional service and support to pet insurance customers, annuity contract owners, agents, brokers, financial institutions and other stakeholders. In this role, you will handle customer inquiries, process service requests, and serve as a trusted resource for product information, contract provisions, claims and account maintenance. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely and customer-focused service while supporting both Pet Insurance and Annuity operations.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to inbound customer inquiries regarding pet insurance and annuity products, contract provisions, account values, claims and service requests.
  • Process and manage customer transactions, including withdrawals, surrenders, beneficiary updates, ownership changes and other account maintenance requests.
  • Review correspondence, determine appropriate actions and ensure service requests are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Research and resolve customer issues, complaints and complex service inquiries while providing clear and professional communication.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions and transactions within company systems.
  • Place outbound calls as needed to respond to customer inquiries or gather additional information.
  • Promote company products and services while delivering a positive customer experience.
  • Support departmental projects, reporting and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of customer service required.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across different lines of business.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to learn insurance products, contract provisions and company procedures.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with financial services, annuities, insurance products or claims processing is a plus.
