Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated CNC Operator/Programmer - AI & Automation to join our team in a hands-on manufacturing role that combines traditional CNC machining with emerging automation technology. This position is ideal for someone eager to learn CNC machine operation and traditional programming while also supporting the implementation of AI and machine learning in a real production environment.

This is a shop-floor role for someone who is ready to work hands-on, learn by doing, and help build something bigger than a standard machining job. The right candidate will operate machines, assist with programming, support process improvements, and contribute to the development of smarter, more automated machining methods. This is an opportunity to be part of the next generation of manufacturing and help shape technology that can transform the machining industry.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines for production, testing, and process development
  • Learn and perform traditional CNC programming and program edits using standard machining practices
  • Assist with machine setup, tooling changes, offsets, troubleshooting, and first-piece runs
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and part specifications to support machining operations
  • Collect, record, and communicate machining data including feeds, speeds, tooling performance, cycle times, and quality results
  • Support AI and machine learning implementation by providing shop-floor feedback and process data
  • Help test and validate AI-assisted programming, automation tools, and machining recommendations
  • Work closely with machinists, programmers, engineers, and technical teams to improve manufacturing processes
  • Inspect parts and help maintain quality, repeatability, and process consistency
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Interest in CNC machining, manufacturing, automation, and emerging technology
  • Willingness to learn machine operation, setup, and traditional CNC programming
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on shop environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
  • Basic blueprint reading and measuring skills preferred
  • Candidates working toward an engineering degree are preferred, but this is not required
  • Interest in AI, machine learning, and smart manufacturing
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to grow
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with CNC machinery, machining principles, or manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to G-code, M-code, CAD/CAM, or technical drawings
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, or other precision measuring tools
  • Interest in process improvement, automation, or data-driven manufacturing

Why Join Us

This is more than an entry-level machining role. It is a chance to build foundational CNC skills while helping support the future of AI-driven manufacturing. The person in this position will gain real shop experience and play a direct role in advancing automation in the machining industry.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work safely around machinery, tooling, and shop equipment

Benefits

  • Paid time off
  • 401(k)
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Career growth opportunities
