Job description

Job Summary
The Sr. Manager, Safety & ISO Systems is responsible for leading the management and maintenance of the Integrated Management System. This role must collaborate closely with the Site EHS/OHS and Energy Functional Managers / Representatives who provide input into the EMS, OHSMS, & EnMS from their respective local functional roles, as well as with Regional and Global EHS/OHS counterparts. I
This position is a key hands-on member of the Site Management Team and drives the Site's performance against the criteria set forth by the applicable ISO Standards (EMS, OHSMS, EnMS), global ISO Management Handbooks, Standard Operating Procedures and, Guiding Documents. This position is responsible for working closely with the OHS, Environmental, and Energy Management representatives to ensure gathering and upkeeping of data, documentation, communication, and provision of periodic ISO Key Performance Indicators (KPls / EnPls) and other Metrics, as well as of periodic Management Reviews to Site Management relative to the integrated Management System & Sustainability efforts, and participates as an auditor in Regional EEOHS Audits at other Sites as needed, while actively participating as an auditee in Global, Regional, Internal (local) and/or External Audits (by certifying body) of the integrated management system. It collaborates closely with OHS, Energy, and OHS Management Representatives, Site EHS, Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Technical Center, Document Control, Purchasing, Human Resources, et al.
Salary Range: $130,000-150,000
Position is eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan with a target of 14% of the base salary.
Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities
  • Partner with direct reports to manage and develop the local EHS/OHS, and Energy in terms of the applicable and most current ISO Management Systems' Standards, and Sustainability initiatives.
  • Assure conformity with the current state of EHS/OHS and Energy policies of Fresenius Kabi globally, regionally, and locally, as well as with global, regional, and/or local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of the integrated Management system in cooperation with the local teams and Energy, Environmental & OHS Management System Representatives.
  • Conduct and monitor local audits, develop an annual auditing plan, and participate in audits (as an auditee) by Global EHS/OHS, Regional EHS/OHS, by peers in the same role from other sister Plants, or by external auditors (certifying body), and/or participates in audits (as an auditor) at other sister Plants as needed
  • Define internal needs to comply with global EHS/OHS and Energy standards and determine appropriate Goals, Objectives/Targets, and KPls / EnPls; and track progress against them.
  • Expand and further develop internal EHS/OHS and Energy KPI reporting in an effort of, and for, continual improvement, sustainability, and of critical importance to Site Management.
  • Serve as the local Energy, Environmental, and Occupational Health and Safety Sr. Manager, in consultation with topic-specific MRs. Ensure the effectiveness, efficient running, management, and continual improvement of the EEOHSMS, compliance with ISO45001/14001/50001, and relevant legal & other requirements. He/she is overseeing the Integrated EEOHSMS with key specific responsibilities including:
  • Ensure the integrated EEOHS Management System (EEOHSMS) complies with the requirements of ISO 14001 (EMS), ISO 45001 (OHSMS), & ISO 50001 (EnMS) and corporate requirements, and that continual improvement is achieved.
  • Implement and monitor the extent to which the Regional EEOHS policy and local EEOHS objectives have been achieved with respect to Production Unit - Wilson.
  • Create, manage, and update documentation relating to the integrated Energy, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety Management System (EEOHSMS).
  • Provide ongoing surveillance of compliance with EEOHS legal and other requirements.
  • Report on the integrated EEOHS performance of the organization to top management.
  • Undertake regular review of occupational health & safety risks, and environmental aspects and impacts, and energy review & performance.
  • Provide training and information to employees to prevent accidents, avoid environmental pollution and wasteful use of natural resources, and reduce energy consumption, while enhancing environmental performance, improving health & safety performance, promoting sustainability, and optimizing energy efficiencies.
  • Report issues to the Corporate (Global/Divisional and Regional) Energy, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety (EHS/OHS) Departments, and to the respective global Environmental, Energy, and Occupational Health & Safety Management Representatives (i.e. gEMR, gEnMR, gOHSMR).
  • Undertake EEOHS audits to review the integrated EEOHS Management System (EEOHSMS).
  • Pursue actions related to general EEOHS, including site-specific EEOHS programs and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) that are covered by the integrated EEOHSMS.
  • Continual improvement of methods and procedures related to the integrated EEOHSMS.
  • Report on EnMS, EMS, & OHSMS issues to the Plant Management Team, Regional EHS, Global EHS/OHS, and communicate appropriate information about these Management Systems to the workforce.
  • Assist the Site Compliance Team with ISO 9001, such as in audit support and reporting, as necessary.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years in an ISO, Security, and/or EHS-related position with a minimum of three years leadership experience.
  • Certification in Lead Auditor Training in ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards preferred
  • Experience in managing environmental management systems and sustainability programs. Certification in RCRA Hazardous Waste Management preferred
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in conducting audits and implementing corrective actions
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
