Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Integration Engineer

The M&S Integration Engineer will support the mission of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office (DES) in the role of Integration Manager (IM) to test the Missile Defense System (MDS) in a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment, including MDS Ground Test (GT) events and MDS Flight Test support (pre-mission risk reduction, mission execution team training, and post-flight reconstruction). They will provide integration operations support to accomplish the agency's Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI) activities, Ground Test and Flight Test.

Position Responsibilities

Participates in all phases of the M&S Framework integration for the MDA Ground Tests events, Flight Tests and Continual Developmental Integration (CDI) activities. This includes providing support for test planning, functionality tracing, understanding OSF Framework (FW) build requirements and ensuring they are being met in these events/activities.

Support to the M&S Event Mission Manager as the DES-I representative in the GT/FT events and CDIs providing support as a interface/focal point for the DT MTD, interface with the Integrator/NOSC to resolve OSF Framework issues and coordinate DES-I Teams response. Responsible for drafting and distributing End-of-Day reports (EODs) to the DES community to keep the DES-I Teams apprised of event execution progress.

Coordinate communications (phone lines, bridges, SVOIPs, etc.) between labs supporting CDI, GT and FT Events for M&S teams.

Drafts and submits PERSTAT (Personnel Status) reports for deployed personnel supporting GT/FT Events, ensures all site required pre-requisites for team are tracked and completed prior to travel, works with contract travel coordinator for team travel requirements.

Aids the Event Mission Manager in conducting DES-I Internal Coordination Brief meetings for assigned GT/FT events. Drafts and updates meeting briefing slide deck, schedules and facilitates meetings, and provides action item lists as necessary.

Assist with the coordination of scheduling of test resources (facilities, personnel, etc.) to support Missile Defense System-level test events and/or CDI activities.

Must be willing to support travel (10%) to coordinate/monitor test support, support technical interchange meetings, and test coordination and planning meetings.

Engages M&S product configuration management for events, including the routing, tracking and coordination of Change Requests (CRs), on-console software & configuration changes, etc.

Must be willing to support occasional off-nominal work hours (nights / weekends).

Position Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field and Minimum of 5 years' experience and a Bachelor degree; OR equivalent years of experience without degree.

Must be capable of working in a technically challenging environment and interfacing with simulation framework developers; test event integration personnel; data analysts; and event planners, testers, and other stakeholders.

Must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal direction.

Must have a good understanding of the overall MDS infrastructure and Element capabilities.

Must have strong interpersonal and analytical skills to work as a team player.

Must be able to work comfortably and effectively with team members as well as MDS Element contacts, test stakeholders and other DOD contractors.

Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

Experience supporting integrated system test events.

Experience with staffing coordination.

Entry-level familiarity with real-time distributed simulation infrastructures; MDS Element configurations and operations; and DoW Operational Testing (OT) and Development Testing (DT).

Travel and Work Schedule

Travel: This role requires the ability to travel up to 10-25% to support mission-critical events and meetings.

Work Schedule: Occasional night and weekend work is expected to meet critical testing schedules and event-driven timelines.

Position requires that candidate possesses a final and active SECRET security clearance and is able to maintain the clearance.
