Description
Apple's Biophotonics group is seeking an engineer to lead a team of System Integrators, responsible for ensuring that our prototype systems are built and working as expected. The ideal candidate will have experience with consumer electronics system integration, and leading other engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience with debugging and troubleshooting issues with complex systems
Experience with laboratory instrumentation including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, optical power meters, lock-in amplifiers, and precision current/voltage sources
Experience with scripting languages (Python or Matlab preferred) for test automation, data acquisition, and analysis
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of hands-on experience in design, systems integration, hardware validation, or a related engineering role involving complex electronic or electro-optical systems
Demonstrated experience with optical or photonic systems, including photodetectors, laser sources (VCSEL, LED, IR), imaging sensors, or LiDAR/proximity sensing technologies
Experience with wearable health devices or medical technologies
Experience with structured debug methodologies and root cause analysis across multi-domain hardware systems
Solid understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design principles as they relate to sensor front-end performance (noise, bandwidth, dynamic range)
Familiarity with embedded firmware concepts and the ability to collaborate effectively with firmware engineers during system-level debug
Experience developing or maintaining automated test equipment (ATE) or custom bench test fixtures
Detail-oriented and organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills
