Job description

Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent is looking for an Integration Engineer to join its Integration Engineering team. As part of our Integration Engineering team, you will support and facilitate system integration of Persistent existing and development products with end-users and industry partners, primarily Army customers. You will support the definition of technical requirements for new programs and provide technical support for existing programs. Responsibilities will include requirements gathering, solution design, test planning and execution, RF mapping, report generation and delivery. You will play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges and new requirements to our engineering department as you strive to solve problems. This role requires excellent communication skills and significant customer interface experience. You will be required to interface with a variety of internal and external stakeholders such as industry partners, end users, government program offices, Persistent Sales and Programs Management teams, and product developers.  

Position Responsibilities 

  • Collaborating with Customer Entities, Persistent Systems Engineering and Field Operations teams to resolve technical issues escalated from customer locations. 
  • Contributing to program effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-term issues; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; and recommending options and courses of action 
  • Build customer relationships with program clients through managing and interpreting their requirements and conveying progress to Management team 
  • Troubleshooting customers' communication systems and collaborating with the Sales, Engineering, and Field Operations departments to resolve technical issues. 
  • Developing test and demonstration plans and methodologies followed by final reports and summaries for internal and external customers 
  • Developing technical portions of responses to RFI / RFP and other similar customer requirements 
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of Persistent Systems products to evaluate and maintain program objectives 
  • Working closely with Product Development Department by providing feedback from information gathered during integration and testing projects 
  • Communicating Persistent Systems' solutions to technical and non-technical clients and end-users 
Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, or computer science  
  • 3+ years of relevant experience 
  • Understanding technical concepts such as wireless, mobile IP, RF propagation with an understanding of hardware and software concepts 
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as IP routing and switching and VPN architecture 
  • Experience with Army Vehicles, Uncrewed Systems, Aviation or Maritime communications systems and operations 
  • Proficiency in software packages such as Visio, Microsoft Office 
  • Must be available to travel 30% of the time 
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master's degreein electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, or computer science 
  • 5+ years of experience with Defense, Intelligence, Special Operations communication systems 
  • Proficiency in programming in Python, C, and/or C++ 
  • Proficiency in working through Linux Operating System.  
  • Experience with wireless concepts such as MANET, Mesh, Ad-hoc, protocols and web architecture, with an understanding of hardware and software concepts 
  • Experience working directly with customers and end users 
  • Experience of working with customer organizations such as large sized Government entities 
  • Experience working with mid-size or larger Commercial organizations 
  • DoD Information Operations and Cyber Security experience 
  • Proficiency in advanced technical software packages such as SolidWorks, and MATLAB 
  • Active Secret US Security Clearance 

The base pay for this role can vary from $152,000 to $173,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
