Job Description

Job Title: Material Process Engineer IV

Location: Harrodsburg, KY
Duration: 1+ year
Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead Melting technology projects.
  • Management/facilitation of the technology change management process for Melting.
  • Training - track employee technical training for all new hires, new training requests for direct reports.
  • Employee Career development- create and track career plans for each direct report.
  • Perform technical analysis of melting and delivery processes. Application of analytical results will be used to improve equipment, processes and meeting customer requirements.
  • Interface with Melting Equipment Design team for new Melting technologies (concept through production trial).
  • Interface with Research and Development for production trials of new products and technologies.
  • Interface with Plant Engineering to facilitate the introduction of new technologies into manufacturing.
  • Support manufacturing start-ups, developments and expansions worldwide.
  • Support equipment repair activities as required worldwide.

Longer Term:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership for four to six Division Melting Technology Engineers.
  • Manage the Melting Technology Management Portfolio to budget.
  • Strategy development/deployment - Create and communicate the long term view of Melting Technology for the CGT Division Engineering team.

Projects involved with:

  • Process/Product Excellence - Six Sigma, DMAIC and Manufacturing Engineering Excellence
  • Technology development, deployment and migration.

Required Skills:

  • B.S. in an Engineering discipline.
  • 5 years' experience minimum in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong technical / project management skills.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory position.

Desired Skills:

  • Chemical or Ceramic Engineering degree.
  • M.S. in engineering discipline.

Glass manufacturing experience.
