What is an integrated solutions manager?

Integrated Solutions Managers are professionals who oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive solutions that combine products, services, and technologies to meet clients' business needs. They work closely with sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure solutions are tailored, scalable, and effectively address customer requirements. Their role often involves client consultations, project planning, and coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver seamless, integrated offerings. They play a key part in ensuring that the delivered solution aligns with both the client's objectives and their organization's capabilities.

How does an integrated solutions manager typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects?

An Integrated Solutions Manager regularly works with teams from sales, engineering, IT, and operations to develop and implement comprehensive solutions for clients. They act as a central point of coordination, ensuring that each department’s contributions align with overall project goals and client requirements. Strong communication and project management skills are essential, as is the ability to balance competing priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.

Job description

Gibson Dunn is a leading global law firm, advising clients on significant transactions and disputes. Our exceptional teams craft and deploy creative legal strategies that are meticulously tailored to every matter, however complex or high stakes. The firm’s work is distinguished by a unique combination of precision and vision.

Based in the US, the Global Practice Services (GPS) Manager, AI & Advisory Solutions is responsible for driving the responsible, practical adoption of artificial intelligence across the firm’s eDiscovery and litigation support functions. The GPS team is comprised of eDiscovery Advisors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who consult with case teams and clients on discovery strategy, technology selection, workflow design, and process innovation. This role leads that team in translating AI strategy into real, defensible workflows—turning emerging capabilities into measurable efficiency and cost control as well as improved outcomes across the litigation lifecycle. Serving as a trusted strategic partner to stakeholders across the firm's legal practice teams, GPS leadership, and Information Systems, the GPS Manager will drive organizational change, accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies, and responsibly integrate AI governance into day-to-day operations while ensuring the firm's standards for confidentiality, defensibility, and professional responsibility.

This role reports to the Associate Director, Global Practice Services.

Responsibilities include:AI Strategy & Adoption
  • Lead the firm’s adoption of AI-enabled eDiscovery and litigation-support workflows, translating firm AI strategy into practical, measurable value for attorneys and clients.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize high-impact use cases for generative AI, technology-assisted review, and advanced analytics across each stage of the EDRM and the broader litigation lifecycle.
  • Design, pilot, and scale new AI-driven workflows—setting evaluation standards, defining success criteria, and governing go/no-go and scaling decisions for proof-of-concept initiatives.
  • Track adoption, usage trends, feedback, and business impact, and report on the return on the firm’s technology investments to GPS and firm leadership.
Workflow Design & Process Innovation
  • Reengineer eDiscovery and litigation-support workflows to embed AI and automation, streamlining data scoping, review, and production while improving quality, defensibility, and speed.
  • Draft and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflow diagrams, and roles-and-responsibilities matrices that reflect AI-enabled processes and align with industry best practices and firm policy.
  • Partner with case teams to translate legal objectives into technical and operational plans, ensuring proportionality, cost control, and defensibility in complex, cross-border matters.
Responsible AI & Governance
  • Champion responsible AI use across the team—reinforcing confidentiality, attorney supervision, client expectations, data security, and professional-responsibility considerations in every deployment.
  • Collaborate with GPS leadership, Information Systems, Information Security, Information Governance, and Practice Group Management to align AI adoption with the firm’s governance frameworks, acceptable-use policies, and data-privacy obligations.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of eDiscovery Advisors and Subject Matter Experts, building their expertise in AI-enabled workflows and elevating the team’s overall capabilities.
  • Monitor and balance active workloads across the team to optimize performance and utilization.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the team and with cross-functional partners to ensure a cohesive approach to litigation support and technology adoption.
Advisory, Training & Thought Leadership
  • Serve as a senior expert advisor, providing strategic guidance on complex legal-technology and AI challenges and delivering high-level consultations that showcase the impact of AI on litigation efficiency.
  • Design and deliver education and training to build trust with attorneys and staff and drive durable adoption of evolving eDiscovery and AI capabilities.
  • Represent GPS on internal committees and cross-functional initiatives related to AI, technology, and process improvement, and maintain broader market awareness to keep the firm well positioned within the rapidly evolving legal-technology landscape.
Vendor & Cost Management
  • Manage relationships with preferred service providers—negotiating SOWs, project scoping, pricing structures, and service-level agreements to ensure transparency, value, and quality.
  • Benchmark vendor and tool performance, develop cost forecasts and pricing models for AI-enabled workflows, and inform strategic sourcing and cost-containment initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Deep understanding of the litigation lifecycle and eDiscovery best practices—from data identification, collection, and processing through review, production, and trial services—and where AI and automation deliver the greatest value.
  • Excellent strategic vision and leadership skills, with the ability to influence adoption and to guide complex projects and case teams in a dynamic legal environment.
  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, responsible-AI policies, information governance, and data-privacy regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, training, and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate adoption metrics into business-impact language and to engage clients, legal teams, vendors, and outside experts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset focused on continuous improvement and measurable innovation.
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required. JD or Master’s degree equivalent in a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience working with legal technology and eDiscovery.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience, directly overseeing high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience using legal generative AI and eDiscovery AI tools and leading AI or emerging-technology adoption, innovation, or workflow-transformation initiatives, ideally within an AmLaw firm or comparable professional-services environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing high-stakes, complex, cross-border eDiscovery matters.
  • Proficiency in legal-technology platforms, specifically Relativity, RelativityOne, DISCO and Opus2, and familiarity with emerging AI-driven review and analytics technologies.
