Job description

MetzWood Insurance is seeking a motivated and professional Personal Lines Sales Agent to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, identifying client needs, and delivering tailored insurance solutions.

As part of our Personal Insurance Department, you’ll handle a mix of inbound leads and self-generated opportunities through prospecting and networking. Once coverage is bound and applications are complete, accounts transition to our dedicated service team—allowing you to focus on growth and new business development.

Responsibilities
  • Convert inbound leads and generate new business through outbound outreach and networking.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to identify client needs and recommend the right coverage.
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, and presentations for home, auto, umbrella, and other personal insurance products.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and the Personal Lines Manager to ensure proper account placement.
  • Attend local networking functions, chamber of commerce events, and community activities to build relationships and generate new business opportunities. Those activities may often occur outside of normal business hours.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records in Applied Epic and related systems.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to sales initiatives.
Requirements
  • Current Property Casualty license (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in personal lines or a related sales role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Applied Epic, and comparative rater systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Driven, professional, goal-oriented.
  • Organized multitasker with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and confident in managing both inbound and outbound opportunities.
