Position Overview

The Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying dental insurance eligibility and benefits prior to patient appointments. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently with insurance carriers, patients, and the dental team to ensure accurate benefit information is obtained and documented.

Key Responsibilities

Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits through online portals and telephone communication with insurance carriers.

Contact patients to obtain or clarify insurance information when needed.

Review and document coverage details, including deductibles, annual maximums, waiting periods, frequencies, and limitations.

Accurately enter and maintain insurance information within the practice management software.

Assist the front office team with insurance-related questions and benefit breakdowns.

Identify and resolve insurance discrepancies before patient appointments.

Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
