Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Survey Project Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of our land surveying projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to foster effective communication between clients, contractors, field teams, and office staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee multiple land surveying projects from initiation to completion.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with survey field crews and office staff to ensure accurate and timely project execution.
  • Prepare project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of survey data, plats, and reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to field teams.
  • Monitor project progress and address any challenges or delays promptly.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a project management role.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying methods, equipment, and software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, total stations).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project resources effectively.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments and software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS applications).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites, if needed.
  • Adherence to Illinois Department of Labor regulations and federal employment laws, including non-discrimination policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Trimble Business Center (TBC).
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
